CTC is not your bank credit
Employer PF, gratuity provisions, employer ESI and non-cash benefits are removed before calculating fixed gross salary. Basic, HRA and remaining allowances together form fixed gross. Gratuity is an estimated CTC provision (15/26 of one month’s basic per year), not cash paid monthly or a guaranteed entitlement.
Bonus and monthly tax
The full variable amount is assumed paid and taxable. Estimated annual tax is spread equally across 12 months, including tax on bonus. Regular monthly take-home excludes the bonus. Actual payroll may deduct bonus tax when the bonus is paid. Annual net cash equals 12 regular monthly amounts plus the assumed bonus; monthly equivalents are not payslip amounts.
Scope and assumptions
Supports ₹1.2 lakh–₹1 crore annual CTC, resident salaried individuals under 60, full-year employment and salary income only. Includes standard deductions, applicable rebates and marginal relief, 4% cess, and surcharge with marginal relief above ₹50 lakh taxable income. HRA exemption and eligible old-regime deductions use your inputs. No capital gains, stock awards, employer NPS, taxable perks, other income, mid-year job changes or special exemptions. The old-regime comparison is incomplete unless you enter your eligible deductions.
Salary components and statutory wage bases cannot be established from CTC alone. PF is an editable offer assumption; we do not infer membership eligibility or a universal contribution cap. ESI is opt-in and assumes fixed gross equals ESI wages, with no variable pay and wages up to ₹21,000/month; special coverage periods need actual payroll figures. Confirm wages, employer costs and deductions with your employer. This is an estimate, not a payslip or tax filing calculation.
Rules and sources
Rules reviewed 15 October 2026. The income-tax estimate uses the FY 2026–27 slab structure and salaried standard deductions of ₹75,000 (new) / ₹50,000 (old). Maharashtra professional tax is modelled from the official published schedule; for other states enter your actual annual amount. Special state exemptions and bonus-month threshold changes are not inferred; enter actual annual professional tax manually if these apply.
